Frank Rust - Founder, Cataloops
About Cataloops
Cataloops was built by an AI engineer for the reality of modern Amazon catalogs.
My name is Frank Rust. I spent six years building AI systems for industry and research before turning that discipline on the most measurable business in e-commerce: Amazon. Cataloops is what came out of that.

How Cataloops came to be
I trained as a computer engineer - an MSc at Birmingham on medical imaging AI, then four years building industrial systems at Framence and Innomatik. The pattern repeated everywhere:
“models worked in the lab, then stalled on messy, slow data plumbing in production”
Co-founding Marketplacer Agency in late 2024 put me inside Amazon catalog operations - the opposite problem. SP-API delivers real-time, SKU-level performance data; the bottleneck was human throughput. Brands paid agency retainers for work that should run continuously. Cataloops is the layer I built for that: continuous reads, ranked proposals per SKU, approval queue, SP-API execution - operator-led, not hour-based.
From running an agency to building the system
Marketplacer Agency confirmed the diagnosis. We were a small team of skilled operators who spent 70% of our time on manual data pulls, formatted reports, and copying recommendations across spreadsheets. Brands paid €3-5k/month for a fraction of the work their catalog actually needed. Recommendations sat in inboxes for weeks before going live. Every problem had the same root cause: the work was manual when it should have been a system.
Cataloops is the system. The optimization decisions we used to make manually - keyword research, listing rewrites, image gap detection, compliance monitoring, PPC keyword harvesting - are now SP-API-integrated, AI-driven, and continuous. The human role shifted from operator-as-laborer to operator-as-decision-maker. I review the action queue, approve in batches, monitor outcomes, and adjust strategy. The system does the throughput.
What you actually get when you work with Cataloops
Cataloops is two things at once: an integrated software system for Amazon catalog optimization, and a human operator who runs it for you.
The system
- Live SP-API integration across every EU Amazon marketplace
- Continuous catalog snapshots and listing-health scoring
- AI-driven optimization proposals at the SKU level (titles, bullets, backend keywords, Item Highlights, image gaps)
- Action Queue with approval workflow - nothing goes live without sign-off
- Push-back to Amazon via SP-API, no manual Seller Central work
- Performance tracking against organic search, PPC, and conversion metrics
- Margin-aware reporting and ACoS target alignment
The operator (me)
- Weekly review of the action queue and priority setting
- Strategic decisions on which categories to optimize first
- Coordination with your existing PPC, creative, and compliance teams
- Monthly executive reports and quarterly strategy reviews
- Direct line for urgent issues (suppressions, account health, enforcement)
- Continuous tuning of the system to your specific catalog patterns
That's the asymmetry against agencies (who sell hours) and tools (who sell dashboards). You get a system, and I run it for you.
Cataloops fits into your team - it doesn't replace it
Most brands that come to Cataloops already have parts of their marketplace stack working. A PPC agency they trust. A creative team that owns the brand voice. A PIM or Channel Engine integration that pushes product data. An in-house marketplace manager who owns the strategy internally. Cataloops doesn't try to absorb any of that. It plugs in.
With your PPC operator
We feed your PPC team SQP-driven keyword insights and per-SKU ACoS targets tied to margin. They run the campaigns. Coordination is weekly, structured around what's converting organically and where ad spend is leaking.
With your creative team
We detect main-image gaps and generate A/B-test briefs based on conversion data. Your designers, photographers, or creative agency produce the finished assets. We push the variants live and measure CTR impact.
With your compliance and account-health workflow
We monitor suppressions, GPSR flags, account health notifications, and product-safety enforcement across every marketplace. Escalated cases (appeals, brand registry disputes, regulatory matters) stay with your internal team or legal counsel. We surface the issue and the data; you decide on the response.
With your in-house marketplace manager
If you have one, they stay the strategic owner internally. We hand them the system, the queue, and the data they need to drive faster. Most teams find this dramatically reduces the "where do I even start?" problem on a multi-marketplace catalog.
People I work with
Cataloops is operated by me. But certain projects benefit from specialists I've worked with for years and who I bring in when a customer engagement calls for it. They aren't employees, they aren't always involved, and they're transparent about it when they are.

Matt Spear
Backend Developer & Custom Integrations
Builds the data pipelines, SP-API connections, and custom integrations with your PIM, ERP, or Channel Engine. Brought in when an engagement needs deeper engineering beyond the standard Cataloops stack.
Looking for PPC Expert partnerships
PPC Strategist
We're actively seeking experienced Amazon PPC operators to partner with on client engagements - structured SQP handoffs, weekly coordination, and transparent billing when ads work is in scope.

When one of them is involved in your engagement, you'll know who, why, and how they're being paid. No invisible team behind a brand page.
Cataloops works with a small number of EU brands at a time.
If you think your catalog might be one of them, the next step is a 45-minute catalog scan. No deck, no pitch - just a look at what's running on Amazon today and an honest read on whether Cataloops fits.
EU brands, €5M+ revenue, multi-marketplace Amazon catalogs.
